The right tools for an incredible meal

Step 1

Mise en Place

Mise en place is a French phrase meaning "everything in its place". The proper organization and tools are critical to success in any home-cooked meal, but especially when you are looking to pull off a more advanced recipe.

Use a bird's beak paring knife to prep smaller foods or handle detailed tasks such as pitting tomatoes, peeling fruit, or creating decorative garnishes.

Then, use your chef knife to handle the larger prep jobs. We offer three sizes of chef knives from 6" to 10". Choose the one that best fits your style and the task at hand.

Finally, place your prepared ingredients into four sophia bowls. This is especially useful for pre-measured herbs and spices or for mixing home-made salad dressings.

Step 2

Cooking your Meal

The quality of any meal is determined by the proper combination of techniques, tools, and ingredients. Our 7-ply American Clad Cookware is designed to heat evenly, handle easily, and be chemically non-reactive, so that you can truly make the most of your ingredients.

Our 4 quart sauté with cover is one of our most versatile pans. This everyday workhorse pan is ideal for sauteeing, pan frying, searing and even braising.

Is your pan going in the oven? Maybe you would prefer the double-handled 4 quart sauté with cover. All of our cookware is oven and broiler safe, and can be used on any type of cooktop, including induction.

Step 3

Serving and Presentation

A little bit of thought in your presentation can go a long way in impressing your guests. Adding garnishes to dishes, carefully plating the food, or beautifully setting the table are small ways to add a wow factor to your meal.

If you're serving steaks or other meats, your guests will love to use our steak knife set. Placed at the table these razor sharp knives will enhance your meal with both their function and beauty.
